Brasher Falls – Elizabeth M. “Beth” Demo, 55, passed away Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at Canton-Potsdam Hospital. Arrangements are entrusted to Hammill Funeral Home in Winthrop. Beth was born on August 27, 1965, daughter of William D. and M. Kathleen (Keenan) Demo. She graduated from St. Lawrence Central in 1983, SUNY at Canton with a A.A.S. Degree in accounting and Clarkson University with a Bachelor of Science in accounting. She was plant accountant for National Starch and Chemical Corporation, Dunlop Slazenger Corporation and returned to Clarkson University to earn her Master of Business Administration in 1992. She moved to Florida to continue her career. In 2005 she left Linvatec Corporation as Senior Financial Analyst-International to return to the north country. Beth held accounting positions at College Association, Inc at SUNY Canton, Breyers Yogurt Company of North Lawrence, ALCOA, Inc in Massena and Hospice and Palliative Care of St. Lawrence Valley, Inc.
She was a Special Olympics Chairperson Leadership Conference and, on the State Advisory Committee in Florida from 1994 to 2006 and in NY she was Area 27 Coordinator from 2013 to present.
Beth was a communicant of St. Patrick’s Parish in Brasher Falls. For many years she taught 1st Communion Preparation at St. Patrick’s as well as in South Carolina and in Florida.
Beth truly enjoyed interacting with and seeing the smiles of the parish youth and the Special Olympic athletes.
While in Florida, Beth was an avid Tampa fan, Lightning, Rays and Buccaneers, she loved to go the games and would go to the spring training camp for the Yankees with her dad.
She is survived by her mother, Kathleen of Brasher Falls, her brother and sister in law, William D. and Kim Demo, Jr. of Endwell, her niece, Melissa Kate Demo, several aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, William D. Demo on June 7, 2020.
